(1) In its free state, the diameter of the wire thread insert is slightly larger than the diameter of the threaded hole it enters. During assembly, the wire thread insert is subjected to torque using a special wrench, causing its diameter to decrease. It then enters the threaded hole, which has been tapped with a special tap. After installation, the wire thread insert expands like a spring, firmly fixing it within the threaded hole and preventing it from being pulled out when the screw is removed.
(2) Increased load-bearing capacity and fatigue strength of threaded connections: The wire thread insert creates an elastic connection between the screw and the internal threaded hole where it is installed, thus eliminating pitch and thread angle errors between the internal and external threads. This allows for even load distribution on each thread turn over a specified length, strengthening the internal thread and reducing vibration, thereby improving the fatigue strength of the threaded connection. (3) Wear Resistance: Wire thread inserts are precisely wound from extremely hard cold-rolled stainless steel wire, with a helical surface hardness reaching HRC43-50. The mirror-like surface (smoothness up to 2-4 μm) reduces friction and wear, decreasing the torque generated by friction on the screw by 90%. This allows for maximum preload torque and screw tension with minimal tightening torque, preventing screw loosening and ensuring screws of various materials are in optimal working condition.
(4) Corrosion Resistance: Due to the excellent corrosion resistance of stainless steel wire thread inserts, their performance is maintained under various material and environmental conditions. Assemblies using wire thread inserts will not seize or rust.
(5) Heat Resistance: Wire thread inserts prevent threaded connections from jamming or scratching at high temperatures.
(6) Material Saving: Compared to standard internal threads, under the same strength conditions, using wire thread inserts allows for the selection of smaller, higher-strength screws to maximize yield strength utilization. This results in significant material savings, weight reduction, and volume reduction. (7) Locking wire thread inserts can lock screws in the threaded hole, preventing them from loosening and falling off when subjected to vibration and impact. They have better process performance than ordinary locking devices. Locking wire thread inserts can be disassembled and assembled multiple times without reducing the torque of the thread, and also have high reusability.
