Rivet nuts form a strong connection structure through riveting, exhibiting excellent load-bearing capacity and fatigue resistance. They are suitable for enclosed workpieces that can only be operated from one side, requiring no tapping or welding during installation, making them convenient to use. Pneumatic or manual rivet guns can be used for one-time riveting, resulting in high efficiency. A wide variety of rivet nuts are available; blind-hole types provide sealing and waterproofing, while anti-slip teeth increase the installation torque after riveting.
Using rivet nuts requires specialized tools. Rivet nuts are non-removable or difficult-to-remove connections. When using stroke-adjustable riveting processes, if the stroke does not match the plate thickness, improper operation can affect the connection quality, leading to a decrease in preload or even loosening. The riveting force generated during the riveting process may damage some surface coatings (such as Dacromet), affecting corrosion resistance, while stronger zinc-nickel plating coatings largely avoid this problem.
